Perfection and Sense of Pride
Perfection and Sense of Pride
The chief of village was building a worship place on his land. He was visiting daily to watch the progress. Architect was working on statute and was making extra statute. On asking, he told that the statute was imperfect. There was a little defect on nose which was not noticeable to anyone on 25' height. But the architect was believer in perfection.
Perfection has sense of pride feeling in it. “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”
Where there’s a wall there’s a way through a gate or door. There’s even a ladder perhaps and a sentinel who sometimes sleeps. There are secret passwords you can overhear. There are methods of torture for extracting clues to maps of underground passages. There are zeppelins, helicopters, rockets, bombs, battering rams, armies with trumpets whose all at once blast shatters the foundations.
Where there’s a wall there are words to whisper by loose bricks, wailing prayers to utter, birds to carry messages taped to their feet. There are letters to be written - poems even.
Faint as in a dream is the voice that calls from the belly of the wall.

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”
Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
The measure of a man’s real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.
Everyone tries to define this thing called Character. It’s not hard. Character is doing what’s right when nobody’s looking.
Most people say that it’s the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character. Albert Einstein.
Character is the result of two things: Mental attitude and the way we spend our time.
Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character. Albert Einstein
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.
Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.
Character isn’t something you were born with and can’t change, like your fingerprints. It’s something you weren’t born with and must take responsibility for forming.
I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about what I think of what I do! That is character!
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
How true Daddy’s words were when he said: all children must look after their own upbringing. Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.
Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.
